What We Do

According to the 2021 census, Bristol's Somali population is the second largest migrant community in the city. Many of them live in the most deprived neighbourhoods of the city, and many undertake precarious work that is detrimental to their physical and mental wellbeing. Moreover, many face barriers of language, culture and lack of local knowledge that prevent them enjoying the full range of rights and opportunities they are entitled to. At the heart of all our advice services and projects is a drive to correct that imbalance.
All of our services are shaped - and in several cases coordinated - by service users themselves, to ensure we really serve the most vulnerable in our community.
